I’ve always loved essential oils.
The way a tiny glass bottle holds the gathered life of a plant.
Lifting the cap, breathing in the scent.
Just one drop, and the world shifts a little.
That gentle, mysterious feeling — I’ve never forgotten it.
If reading this leaves you with even a small flicker of curiosity, that means a great deal to me.
Essential Oils Are Natural to Us

The history of essential oils stretches back thousands of years.
Ancient Egyptians used them in rituals and medicine. The Greeks and Romans wore them as perfume and remedies. Indian and Chinese traditional medicines built whole practices around them.
Compared to the long arc of humans walking alongside plants, the history of synthetic medicine is barely a moment.
Our bodies have known plant scents and compounds for a very, very long time.
Gentler Than Medicine
Essential oils don’t work like pharmaceuticals.
There’s no quick fix, no instant cure.
What they offer instead is something softer — a gentle invitation back to the rhythms our bodies already know.
Not “take this and you’ll be cured,” but “spend time with this, and feel a little lighter.”
That quiet companionship is what I love most about them.
So Many Ways to Use Them

Smell. Apply. Diffuse. Remember.
Essential oils aren’t limited to one use:
- A few drops mixed with bath salts or carrier oil, then added to a warm bath
(essential oils don’t dissolve in water — always dilute first) - Diluted in a carrier oil for a shoulder or neck massage
- Diffused gently into a room
- Worn as your personal “signature scent” tied to a memory
Scent has a remarkable way of holding memory.
Choose one oil that calls to you, use it a little each day — over time, it becomes yours.
Something I’ve Noticed Lately
I’m so grateful — essential oils have been selling beautifully at the markets recently.
I think people are quietly turning back to nature, in the middle of stress and busyness.
When I see a customer looking carefully at a bottle, eyes serious and curious, my heart warms. There are more people who need these oils than I had imagined.
At Nora’s Aroma, We Use the Real Thing
Choosing the right essential oil matters more than most people realise.
Many bottles labelled “aroma oil” contain synthetic fragrance, or oils whose quality varies wildly from batch to batch.
I work exclusively with The Aromatherapy Company — a trusted British brand with a long heritage, supplying the same essential oils that professional aromatherapists use in their treatments.
As an IFPA-qualified aromatherapist, I use these oils in my own treatments. That’s why I can hand them to my customers and say, with full confidence, “This is the real thing.”
They’re oils I would happily recommend to fellow therapists, too.
A Quiet Gift from Nature
A single drop of lavender holds many petals.
Rosemary, peppermint — each carries sunlight, soil, and water, gently pressed into a bottle.
Essential oils are a small gift nature has left us.
To share that gift carefully is what makes me happiest.
If you’ve found yourself curious, please come and say hello at the market.
